Governance, Advocacy & Policy Think Tank
At the Kenyan Community in Ontario (KCO), our governance structure is designed to ensure transparency, accountability, and effective decision-making. The KCO Governance, Advocacy and Policy Think Tank works to deliberate on specific issues of interest and provide a strategic and policy response. It works tirelessly to understand the impact of systemic issues on our community and to advocate for policies and practices that improve their lives. We are committed to advocating for policies that promote equity, justice, and prosperity for our community.

Access to health care
We advocate for policies that ensure equitable access to healthcare services and promote mental health awareness and support. By raising awareness of healthcare disparities and advocating for policy changes, we strive to improve health outcomes for all members of our community.
Newcomer Settlement
We advocate for policies that support the successful integration and inclusion of newcomers into Canadian society. This includes advocating for improved access to settlement services, language training, employment opportunities, and social support networks. By advocating for fair and inclusive policies, we strive to ensure that newcomers have the resources and support they need to thrive in their new home.

Affordable Housing
Housing is a fundamental human right, and we advocate for policies that address housing affordability, homelessness prevention, and access to safe and stable housing. Through advocacy and community engagement, we work to ensure that everyone has access to affordable and adequate housing options.
Finance, Investment & Retirement
Financial security is crucial for building a stable future. We advocate for policies that promote financial literacy, access to affordable banking services, and equitable opportunities for wealth-building and retirement planning. Through advocacy and education, we empower our community to achieve financial independence and security.
