Seniors Empowerment

We are dedicated to promoting the health and well-being of our senior community members. Our Senior's Empowerment and Health Promotion programs are designed to provide social support, reduce loneliness, and offer opportunities for engagement and personal enrichment. We believe that an active and connected life is key to maintaining physical and mental health in our senior years.

Council of Elders

Our Kenyan Elder's council  (Kikao Cha Wazee) is made up of older adults (60 years and above) interested in playing a governance role in the community, listening to social disputes among members and lending their pearls of wisdom and advice to the younger generations as it was done in traditional Kenyan society.

This gives a meaningful role for the seniors in our community. To learn more about this program please contact KCO at info@kcontario.com.

Social Support & Engagement

Loneliness and social isolation can have significant negative impacts on the health and well-being of seniors. Our programs aim to connect seniors with one another, providing opportunities to socialize, network, and build meaningful relationships.

Senior's Program

Program highlights

  • Social Gatherings: Regular events and gatherings where seniors can meet, socialize, and form new friendships.

  • Support Groups: Facilitated groups that provide emotional support, share experiences, and offer a sense of community.

Benefits of participation

  • Reduced Loneliness: By connecting with others, seniors can combat feelings of loneliness and isolation.

  • Improved Mental Health: Engaging in activities and socializing can improve mood, reduce stress, and enhance cognitive function.

  • Physical Health: Many of our activities involve physical movement, helping seniors stay active and healthy.

  • Sense of Community: Building relationships and participating in group activities fosters a strong sense of community and belonging.
